The Kiambu District Development Committee (DDC) has been asked to co-opt a member of the BAT Kenya Limited to enable the company acquaint itself with development projects being planned.

Speaking during his visit to the company's Green Leaf Threshing (GLT) plant in Thika town and where he later laid a foundation stone for the new export tobacco processing building, the Central Provincial Commissioner, Mr. Victor Musoga, said the Government was satisfied with the contribution of the company in the field of afforestation.

The PC thanked the company for offering the technical and financial assistance to farmers who he said had planted a total of 21 million trees.
