SEX: THE MYTHS

The myths surrounding sex are legion and probably as old as the act itself and hence as old as man. Many of these have been proved as fallacies over time because like all other myths and prejudices correct information usually has a way of blowing them away. But as fast as old ones are unmasked new ones keep surfacing.

Below are some common myths associated with sex. This list however is by no means complete and we would wish you to send in any myths you have heard about sex so that we might add them to this list. MYTH: Sexual intercourse is the best way to prove that you love someone
FACT: Sex (or being intimate) can be expression of love, but sex is not love
MYTH: Having sex proves ones man/womanhood
FACT: Manhood or womanhood is proven by character.
MYTH: Having sex with multiple partners boosts ones prestige and status among peers.
FACT: Having sex with multiple partners may boost ones prestige in some circles of people mainly due to ignorance. For in this day and age of AIDS having sex with multiple partners only proves ones foolishness
