goinghome Video is a division of goinghomedotcom that deals with producing audio visual materials for creating demand reduction through drug abuse awareness using the electronic media.

goinghome Video will also produce audio-visual awareness materials for individuals and organisations who are striving to educate the Kenyan public on the dangers of alcohol and other drug use at subsidised rates. This is in recognition that many such individuals and organisations would like to have their own audio-visual materials tailored for their specific line of awareness, language and target group but that the cost of these productions in Kenya today is beyond their scope.

Thus, goinghome Video will take up a portion of these costs as part of its promotion of awareness in Kenya and to further one of its goals of alerting Kenyans of the great danger present in their midst and some of the harmful policies or lack of enforcement of existing policies which have lead to a drug culture firmly establishing itself in the country especially among the youth. This can only be done by putting the production of these audio-visual materials within reach of as many individuals and organisations who require them. For we strongly believe that it is only through education that the youth (and Kenyans in general) will then be aware of exactly what they are getting into before they start using alcohol and other drugs and thus be able to make an informed choice either way.

We also work with aspiring producers, editors, cameramen/women in providing training and practical training on actual productions. This way they get the actual experience in real situations as well as building up a C.V. while still undergoing training.

  What is alcoholism? Why does it affect certain people and not others? How does one become alcoholic? These are some of the questions the producer himself a recovering alcoholic attempts to answer.
  There are also accompanying notes to 'Nobody Kicks A Dead Dog' which are especially useful to those using this video as an education tool for students, members of the public or any other interested gathering.
  This video was officialy launched at the French Cultural and Cooperation Center, Nairobi on the 12st. of August 2002 by the then Minister of Health Prof. Sam Ongeri E.G.H. The occasion was also as and awareness mini-workshop to highlight the dangers of alcohol use and dispel many of the myths that surround the disease of alcoholism.
  Others present were the then P.S. Ministry of Health, Prof. Julius Meme and the National Coordinator, National Agency for the Campaign Against Drug Abuse, Mr. Joseph Kaguthi.
  The media were also out in large numbers including not only several radio stations, Nation TV, but also the Secretary General Kenya Union of Journalists Mr. Ezekiel Mutua.
  This documentary has aired on Citizen TV in 2002 and due to public demand 2003, the national broadcaster Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) Channel 1 in December 2004 and on STV twice in 2005
