The goinghomedotcom Trust works with several rehablitation centres in Kenya as we realised that not all that would pass themselves off as drug rehablitation centres actually conform

At the same time we realised that the various methods used to coerce, trick, or bribe (carrot-and-stick) clients into rehab usually have a negative output, i.e. the client goes into rehab marks time three months or whatever period has been recommended, exits and proceeds striaght back to drinking or using whatever drugs they were using before.

Moreover we have observed that many clients also use rehab as a place to hide when things get "too hot" for them in the outside world and again do not particiape in the programmes.

Since we as addicts are extremely adept at manipulation, we go into rehab tall the counselors what they want to hear and end up being discharged as fit only to proceed straight away to back to alcohol and other drug use.

We have therefore designed a programme to motivate the client to see the problem and get fired up into helping themselves by overcoming their addiction.

We have at the same time counseling for the families and those affected by the addict while the addict is in rehab so that when the addict comes out, all are on the same page.

Finally we have aftercare for the addict and their families and thus ease the addict back into society through a programme of social integration with some opting to come and work for the goinghomedotcom Trust. This is how we have built up a formidable team of 22 persons all receovering addicts, male and female diffrent religious denominations but with one goal - changing the lives of other addicts one addict at a time. This is the concept we use. Addicts helping addicts.
